Lesson Learned : Hydropanic?

Last month, I gathered the courage to be a hydro-mama but the elephant in the room is will it thrive?

Under my eagle eye, the plants seems to be doing well in the first week, a little while after that they grow into a 4 cloves plant and it was time to migrate them to the medium, this is when everything kind of goes south.

As exciting as it seems to play with water, I realized the amount of water needed to make this come thru is like flooding your bathroom with bubbles and water, still with my optimism, I don’t mind.

Here comes the drought.

the plant seems fine after a couple of days in their new homes and yet the worst is to come, they are running dry on the 7th day. I changed the water and added the nutrition immediately, waited overnight.

when the next day arrives,

there they are, laying looking like they just got run over by a bus,
flat and dry.

So What have I learned exactly?

Not taking things too lightly

you know how your parents said, do your homework when you were little.
Do your homework, kids.

I regret not doing an intensive research before, only watched YT videos on it thinking I got this, I don’t. Big Time.

Disciplines

I wanted them to work out the first time, I was too greedy even some agriculture students I asked about hydroponics had to do it 3 to 4 times to make it happened.

It takes work, It takes time, It takes all of your energy to make something happen for you (or them)

Perseverance

Growing out plants especially hydroponics are not for the faint hearted, and if you want it to grow, you need to try again, again, and again.

Timing

The reason I put timing here is because you and your plant need to have an understanding, both of you can’t grow without each other.
You need to grow together with your plant.

In the end,

I decided to let go my ego with hydroponic (not only because It uses so much water) additionally, I can’t let my plants outgrew me. If my plants were gonna thrive, I’m gonna have to equip myself with the tools needed to level up too.

I don’t think of it as a setback, most importantly this is a learning et relearning process for me, failing is success in progress.
